My son has W98SE on one computer and XP on a new laptop Networked. He wants to print from either one. Does he have to get printer drivers for XP on the laptop if he is connected by a router in a network? I guess he would want the drivers for XP in the event he wanted to print from it without being on the network. Can he just share the printer by clicking on share printers?

he will still need the xp drivers, when printing, even from a network printer, the drivers must still be loaded on the local machine utilizing the network printer.
