Can ne1 help me in this regard.I want to implement erosion,dilation techniques in Java for text recognition or can ne1 provide me the links for these.TIA.

It should be easier to implement than adopt someone's sources to your code.
Go through the image and for every pixel count black and white pixels around. If you are doing erosion and the pixel is black and there is less then "N" neighbours - make it white as soon as you complete the pass. Do it opposit way and you will got dilation. The tricky thing is to choose the right number of surrounding pixels you analyse and "N"
